Teaneck Farmers Market, Teaneck NJ
Kingston Farmers Market, Kingston NY

Job Type: Full-Time, including weekends (with occasional pop-up events)
Start Date: 11April2026 - 1Nov2026
Compensation: $100/day per market with a stipend for lunch
ROLE OVERVIEW
I am seeking an enthusiastic farmers market sales assistant to represent “by Thompson” in different locations across New York and northern New Jersey. Notable locations are at the Grand Bazaar NYC, Artists & Fleas in Williamsburg, and Stormville Antique Flea Market. The sales assistant will also be expected to represent the business in various pop-up events across the New York area. As the face of by Thompson, you’ll engage customers, share my story, and drive sales of our premium products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Set up and manage by Thompson’s market stalls with an inviting and professional display.
• Engage customers with warmth and knowledge
• Share our story and standards including our sustainably sourced teas, fair-trade, ethical labor practices
• Pack teas and take orders where needed
• Handle sales transactions (cash and card) and maintain accurate records.
• Educate customers on our handpicked, plant-based tea blends and brewing tips.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking at market events.
• Pack down the stall efficiently at the end of each market day.
• Register customer feedback and experiences
REQUIREMENTS
Passionate about or to learn about tea, and product sourcing
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must have a NYS Food Handler’s Permit
Must be US based. This is not a remote role.
Friendly, outgoing, and confident in engaging diverse customers.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends and occasional pop-up events.
Comfortable handling cash and card transactions (experience with POS systems a plus).
Physically able to set up stalls, lift light inventory, and stand for extended periods.
Previous sales, retail, or farmers market experience is a bonus but not required.
